MEET JOHN CHRISTIANSON
John Christianson
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
After graduating from Swarthmore College in 1989, John Christianson worked as an administrative assistant for Professional Planning Associates, a small financial planning and insurance firm. Since then, he has had a diverse and varied background as a small business owner serving different segments. In his earlier years, he worked extensively as an employee benefits broker quoting, implementing, and servicing group health and employee benefit plans for small companies (JDC Benefits, LLC). In the last several decades, he has owned and run a tutoring company which focuses on SAT, ACT, and College Essay tutoring services (Christianson Tutorials). More recently, John has focused on providing Medicare insurance (Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage, and Part D) to Medicare beneficiaries (Prosperity Planning LLC).
After studying for and receiving his CFP® certification, John now continues and expands on his lifelong passion to educate, guide, and serve the individual. John created Clearstream Planning LLC to focus on the “advice” only aspect of financial planning. In other words, he is committed to earning his fees based on the value of the advice he provides, not on earning insurance commissions, or by earning a percentage of the total assets under investment management. At all times when providing Financial Advice to a Client, a CFP® professional must act as a fiduciary, and therefore, act in the best interests of the Client. John hopes that by focusing on providing clear financial planning goals while supporting the implementation process, he can embody that fiduciary role.
